All Are Welcome with Rainbow

The people of Lovely Lane UMC humbly strive to be light, love and leaven to the world.

We stand with those who are devalued in our society because of their color, gender, marital status, creed, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental ability, immigration status or economic condition.

We serve those in our neighborhood and our community who are in need of food, housing, education, or health care.

We heal the world through collaboration with the national and international missions of the United Methodist Church, because where our hands cannot be, our hearts can.”

Looking Ahead to the New Year – by Pastor Kristina

I’ve never been very big on New Year’s resolutions. I’m terrible about finishing them! I’d be off to a good start, and then something would happen, and I wouldn’t fulfill my resolution. A few years ago, I made a resolution to make a new recipe every week to be more...

Sharing the Faith – From Pastor Scott

The religious landscape of our country continues to evolve. In Pew Research Surveys that took place in 2018 and 2019, 65% of American adults describe themselves as Christian, down 12% over the past decade. At the same time, the religiously unaffiliated (the “nones”)...

From Associate Pastor, Rev. Kristina Roth-Klinck

Since March when we went into this pandemic, we have had very little socialization with others as we worked from home, wore masks, socially distanced ourselves, and did not get together with friends. In the midst of all of that, many of us, if not at some point all of...

Finding Hope

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness doesn’t extinguish the light” – John 1:5 (CEB) Last year the word “existential” was the Dictionary.com Word of the Year. The word inspires us to ask big questions about “who we are” and “what our purpose is” in the...

ROTARY INVOCATION-September 21, 2020

As we all know, 2020 is a year we will never forget. With the pandemic, Derecho, conversations about race and class, as well as a Presidential election, there is so much going on. And with the news of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s recent passing, we take time to celebrate her...
