Worship
Worship
Worship is the place where God speaks to us and we speak to God. It is where our strength comes for another week. It is the fellowship and Family that send us out into the world to serve.
Sunday mornings at Lovely Lane:
In-Person Worship: 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM
Live-Stream Worship: 10:30 AM
Adult Sunday School: 9:30 AM
Children’s Sunday School: during 10:30 worship (please see below)
Worship Services
Our worship services include and welcome everyone! We hope that you will join us.
Our 8:30 AM traditional worship service is about 45-50 minutes in length. This allows time for Adults to move to their Sunday School rooms by 9:30 AM.
Our 10:30 AM traditional service is about 60 minutes in length, and includes sharing from our Chancel Choir (traditional vocal choir) and/or our Handbell Choir or other special music, plus Children’s Time (see below).
On the first Sunday of the month, we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Special Sundays like Easter, Palm Sunday, All Saints Sunday, Pentecost, and Christmas are usually more formal as well. Our worship is always lively and meaningful, filled with wonderful music and singing, and is open to everyone and anyone.
While most of us dress up a little for worship, casual dress is always present and accepted at Lovely Lane. Whatever the time, whatever the style, know that you are always welcome to join us!
Children’s Time & Sunday School
The 10:30 AM service also includes Children’s Time, which takes place about 15 to 20 minutes into the service. This is a time when children are invited to come forward and gather for a time of learning during the worship service.
Following Children’s Time, children are invited and led as a group to Children’s Sunday School, where they remain until parents/guardians meet them following the service. This is intended for children from preschool through 5th grade. Of course, children are welcome to remain for the full worship service if families so desire.
By providing Children’s Sunday School partway through the 10:30 service, children learn to be in worship, but don’t have to work at being still and quiet for a full hour. Likewise, parents/guardians are provided time to worship and hear the sermon without distraction.
During children’s Sunday School, children will learn about God through songs, age-appropriate Bible study and activities/crafts.
Adult Sunday School
Two Sunday morning classes meet on a regular basis. The “Faith Issues” class meets in the library at 9:30 am. The group discusses current issues from a faith perspective. The “Faith Journeys” class meets in the preschool wing of the building at 9:30 am. The class is led by Pastor Scott and takes a closer look at the scripture readings from worship.
