In the more than 150 years in mission, our organization has changed its name more than 25 times, each reflecting the varying times from the Women’s Society of Christian Service, United Methodist Women and now United Women in Faith. Our purpose is the same; to be a sisterhood driven by God’s love with a focus on improving the quality of life for women, youth and children around the world. We will continue to act for justice and to transform communities.

Our annual pledge to the Pictured Rocks District of UWFaith supports national and worldwide missions in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean and Philippines, just to name a few. In Iowa, Hawthorn Hill and Bidwell Riverside projects have merged and will now be under one name called Families Forward which our donations will continue to support. Our local unit here at Lovely Lane is making great strides to increase our visibility in our church. We are still committed to Lovely Lane Preschools with scholarship monies, support our local mission trips, and local charities. This past year we have made changes to be mindful of our carbon footprint, support the Fair Trade opportunities and build our UWFaith reading program and library. We have committed to educate ourselves on social issues; like labor and human trafficking.
