Sunday Worship Times

We have in-person worship on Sunday mornings during the school year at 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM. During the summer months (generally Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend) we have one service at 9:30 AM.

Online Worship

We live-stream our 10:30 AM service on your YouTube channel. In the summer when we have one service we live-stream at 9:30 AM. Past worship services and other special program recordings can also be found on our YouTube channel.

What to Expect at Worship

Our worship services include and welcome everyone! We hope that you will join us.

During the school year, Our 8:30 AM traditional worship service is about 45-50 minutes long. This allows time for Adults to move to their Sunday School rooms by 9:30 AM.

Our 10:30 AM traditional service is about 60 minutes long. It includes sharing from our Chancel Choir (traditional vocal choir) and/or our Handbell Choir or other special music, plus Children’s Time when the children are invited to the front for a lesson with the pastor.

We celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion on the first Sunday of the month. Special Sundays like Easter, Palm Sunday, All Saints Sunday, Pentecost, and Christmas are usually more formal as well. Our worship is always lively and meaningful, filled with wonderful music and singing, and open to everyone.

While most of us dress up a little for worship, casual dress is always present and accepted at Lovely Lane.  Whatever the time and style, know that you are always welcome to join us!

Summer Worship

Our worship services include and welcome everyone! We hope that you will join us.

Our summer schedule runs generally from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. In the summer we have one worship service at 9:30 AM. The service is typically 60 minutes in length and often includes special music from our members.

We take the summer off from both adult and children’s Sunday School, but we usually do have activities such as story time or cooking for the children during the worship service.

Sunday School and Bible Study

During the school year we offer Sunday School for adults on Sunday Mornings at 9:30 AM (between the two worship services). Two Sunday morning classes meet on a regular basis. The “Faith Issues” class meets in the library at 9:30 AM. The group discusses current issues from a faith perspective. The “Faith Journeys” class meets in the preschool wing of the building at 9:30 AM. The class is led by Pastor Scott, who closely examines the scripture readings from worship.

Pastor Scott leads study groups on Wednesdays. A morning group meets via Zoom at 9:30 AM, and an evening group meets in the church library at 6:00 PM. While the study groups are occasionally standard Bible studies, the focus is normally a book study. Book studies alternate between heavier, edgier subjects and material appropriate for all levels of faith development. All are welcome to participate!

A women’s study group is also available at different times of the year. The group usually assigns and discusses a particular book selection. Watch our newsletter for upcoming titles and meeting times.

Children

Children are welcome during worship, however we do have Children Sunday School available during the 10:30 AM service. Right after announcements by the Pastor, children are invited for “Children’s Time” at the front of the church. After that, they are led as a group to meet for Children’s Sunday School. This is intended for children in pre-school through 5th grade. Nursery care is also available for younger children.

On Wednesday nights during the school year, children pre-school through 5th grade and their families are invited for Wednesday Night Kids’ Club. The evening begins with a family meal and then children attend age-appropriate classes for stories, crafts, games and singing.

We offer vacation bible school for one full week during the summer. Watch our website and Facebook page for announcements each year.

Read more about opportunities for children on our Children page.

Youth

Youth ministries at Lovely Lane range from 6th grade to 12th grade. We hold Confirmation classes every other year for 7th and 8th graders. The group meets on Wednesday nights during the school year. The next Confirmation class will take place during the 2025-2026 school year.

Other youth activities during the school year include Wednesday Night Youth and Sunday afternoon youth Co-op. Our youth director also arranges mission and service trips and various summer activities. To learn more about current youth happenings join our bi-weekly newsletter. Send an email to ryan@lovelylane.org.

What We Believe

The United Methodist Church is a worldwide denomiation that opens hearts, opens minds and opens doors through active engagement with our world.

John Wesley and the early Methodists placed primary emphasis on Christian living, on putting faith and love into action. This emphasis on what Wesley referred to as “practical divinity” has continued to be a hallmark of United Methodism today.

You can learn more about our faith, spiritual living, social principles, baptism, communion, confirmation at the page What We Believe.

Our Pastors

Our Lead Pastor is Dr. Scott Meador. Our Associate Pastor is Kristina Roth-Klinck. Read more about them on our staff page
