A Blessing For When You’re Exhausted

In my conversations with so many of you, you find yourself exhausted in the midst of this season. You’re pulled in so many directions. Work is busy, the chores need tending to, you’re driving your children from one place to another. There’s just so much, and it is likely challenging to juggle it all and keep the plates spinning. As a new mom, I’m going from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep. There’s always laundry to stay on top of and bottles to wash! I recently wrote a blessing for the Nourished Facebook Page that has been meaningful for many different folks. Maybe it will be for you, too.

Blessed are you
When you hit the snooze button for the fifth time,
When getting out from under the covers feels like too much to bear.
And oh how blessed are you
When the responsibilities of the day pester you and nag you,
Bringing that all too familiar feeling of anxiety.
You know,
The tight stomach and the jello legs?
When it all feels too much,
When the one more request sends your heart soaring,
And you just can’t shut off the physical exhaustion of anxiety,
May you encounter the Divine like a weighted blanket upon you,
Bringing you back to a feeling of peace.
And when the opportunity arises for even a small moment of rest,
May you take a breath and feel the peace of God fill your very being.
