Crisis Ministry Team
Developing ministry that would respond to immediate crisis needs of persons
connected to Lovely Lane. Training will be provided for persons interested
in this ministry
Education
Develops and oversees the primary means for passing on the faith in the
church, recruits teachers, obtains curriculum, conducts Kids’ Klub,
Children’s Christian Education, Nursery, Vacation Bible School,
and Adult education opportunities.
Special Events include Happy Birthday Jesus, a one day Saturday event
during Advent and Children’s Easter Celebration and Egg Hunt.
Health and Wholeness
Focuses on health related issues and concerns from a holistic perspective.
Visits homebound, nursing home residents and the sick. Helps plan the
women’s yearly retreat. Plans program for Friendly Fellowship. Wellness
Works helps plan activities for any groups interested in fitness activities
or health related presentations.
Hospitality Ministries
Membership care. Supports relationships in the congregations. Conducts
programs which encourage faithful use of our gifts, talents, resources
and possessions.
Sports Coordinator organizes Lovely Lane members who wish to participate
in sports.
Hospitality also coordinates spring and fall New Member Receptions, Eight
Who Ate, Spring All Church Meal, Summer Brunches, the Summer All Church
Picnic and coordinates meal for Hanging of the Greens.
Inclusiveness
This group has led our church to be promoters of “inclusiveness”
at all levels of the United Methodist Church. We have adopted a “Statement
of Inclusiveness” at Lovely Lane and Petitioned the Annual Conference
to change some wording in the Book of Discipline to be inclusive.
Missions
Selects mission projects for support of special offerings, provides educational
opportunities, coordinates mission trips and projects.
Ongoing missions include Habitat for Humanity, Local Food Bank, Green
Square Meals, Trinity Lane Clothing Closet, Trinity Food Bank.
Library Ministry
Music Ministry
Lovely Lane provides many opportunities for expression through music and the creative arts.
Through the Adult Choir, Handbell Choirs and Children's Choirs, plus the Open Door Worship
Band and Singers, members and friends of the church enjoy participating in or being inspired
by the music at Lovely Lane. Vocalists and instrumentalists, both soloists and small
groups - including church members and guest musicians - share their gifts during worship
services and other events throughout the year. All ensembles are a part of special musical
presentations that take place during Advent and Lent.
Along with our fine organ, the church is also fortunate to have a concert grand piano. A Clavinova
keyboard is used by the Open Door Worship Band, in addition to drums, auxiliary percussion, guitars
and more. You might also occasionally hear a melodica, accordion, or some vocal chant during one of
our worship services! Come and explore the expressions of love, meditation and motivation made possible
through one of God's greatest gifts - music!
Older Adult Council
Oversees ministries to older adults, and nursing home ministries.
Plans Intergenerational Ministry.
Outreach/Marketing
Provides spiritual outreach to persons in our community, encourages persons
in their relationship with God, reaches out and invites, welcomes visitors,
delivers information about Lovely Lane and its programs to visitors.
Small Group Ministries
Coordinates and promotes ongoing small groups and enables the formation
of new groups.
Social Concerns
This is a new ministry whose primary task will be to provide opportunities
to study and discuss the social concerns/issues of persons in our community
and across the world and to coordinate a course of action for faithful
response.
United Methodist Women
UMW is open to all women of Lovely Lane and provides an opportunity for
women of all ages to grow spiritually in a loving and caring fellowship.
Programs include Bible study and mission education through unit meetings
and circles.
Worship
Coordinates recruitment of and training for lay worship leaders, oversees
worship space and arrangement, paraments and banners, worship schedule
and special services.
